Morning Topics . . .

Believe In Magic

Magic! The elusive element that’s capable of causing one’s images to stand out from the

crowd. Learn about it and where to find it during this session.

The Moment of Discovery

This session will cover what to do in the field when everything — lighting, subject, and background — comes together.

Jump-Starting the Creative Process

There are only a limited number of ways to photograph a polar bear or snow goose. Right?

Wrong! That kind of thinking is the biggest obstruction that keeps many photographers from expanding their creativity and producing new and exciting images. This session will cover techniques that Weldon has used to jump-start the creative process.

In Search of The Winning Image

In this session, participants will learn the biggest stumbling block that prevents many photographers from producing a winning image, along with the different techniques that Weldon employs in overcoming it. Also covered, are the various elements important to transforming an ordinary photograph into a winning image.

12:00-1:30 p.m. -  Break for Lunch

1:30 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Afternoon Topics . . .

Digital Workflow

Learn every step and technique that Weldon employs during this creative process that begins in the field and ends when he stores the final product on his external hard drive.

The Digital Darkroom: Making A Symphony

According to Ansel Adams, “The negative is the equivalent of the composer's score, and the print the performance.”  Participants will learn the digital equivalent of the darkroom techniques that Adams used to make his classic landscape images.

The Missing Element: One With Nature

Have you ever viewed an image that left you at a loss for words? One so beautiful that when you first viewed it, it caused you to say to yourself “Oh...my...gosh?”

Sure you have. Unfortunately, we often fall short in our attempts at producing such an image. Before a photographer can make an image that moves one’s spirit, the photographer’s spirit must first be moved.

During this session, Weldon will reveal what he has learned about this missing ingredient and the steps necessary to begin your own journey - a journey that will not only improve your wildlife photography, but change your life.

Images from a Magical World

A cornucopia of wildlife images set to the Native America flute music of Carlos Nakai.
