Join us near Petersburg, Alaska, along the Stikine River during the world's largest spring gathering of Bald Eagles. The addition of harbor seals and Steller sea lions against a backdrop of breathtaking glaciers, blue ice, and bays filled with wind-sculpted icebergs make this truly an adventure to remember. Additional species that may grace our viewfinders include brown bears, moose, gray wolves, Harlequin Ducks, and both White-winged and Surf Scoters. Who knows, we may even encounter a pod of orcas.

The 60-foot Alaska Adventurer is our home during this adventure into one of Alaska's most scenic locations. Shipboard life features four comfortable, private cabins with shared baths, a large covered deck, and a salon with entertainment center containing numerous DVD/VCR selections along with a comprehensive library of reference books. Gourmet meals are served fresh from the galley.

Small group size allows in-depth instruction along with a high degree of personalized attention for beginners and professionals alike. You’ll learn how to make award winning wildlife images; and how to make money marketing them. A special program is planned for each and every day. We will do everything in our power to make this workshop a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Join us on a real Alaskan Adventure!

Itinerary

Day 1 (Saturday) - Following lunch in one of Petersburg's quaint cafes, you will board the Alaskan Adventurer where you will receive a brief orientation prior to casting off on one of the greatest adventures of all times as we cruise through Wrangell Narrows into a world of beauty beyond description.

Day 2-6 (Sunday thru Thursday) - Days will find your viewfinder filled with Bald Eagles and spectacular landscapes as you travel up the Stikine River to locations yet to be discovered by the photographic community. A chartered jet boat necessary for navigating shallow waters will allow you and the other members of our party to go ashore and explore the spectacular landscapes of the Stikine-LeConte Wilderness. During incoming tides there will be opportunities to check out the extensive grass flats for snow geese, sandhill cranes, and a variety of migratory shorebirds.

Day 7 (Friday) - All good things must come to an end including your Alaskan adventure, but not before spending a good part of the day capturing those images missed earlier in the week. Sometime during the afternoon, the Alaska Adventurer will set sail for Petersburg where you'll spend the last night prior to your return flight back to that place called reality.

This itinerary is meant as a guide.

Weather conditions and tides will dictate when, and if, we visit certain locations.
