Day 1 (Sun): Eagle Butte
Arrive in Eagle Butte, South Dakota, no later than 5 PM, at which time we will gather for dinner. Following dinner, everyone will receive instruction on photo techniques and a briefing on the next day’s shooting lineup.
Day 2-4 (Mon-Wed): Sunka Wakan
Each morning, sunrise will find your viewfinders filled with breathtaking images of the symbol of the American West Ñü the wild horse. Sometime during mid- to late morning hunger pangs will eventually overcome your desire to capture the perfect image and force you into town where you’ll feast on ham and eggs. Following your usual mid-day classroom session and a brief nap, it’s back to work. After all, you did come to photograph wild horses. Only after the sun has gone down will you return to town, seek out your favorite watering-hole, and eat supper. One thing’s for certain, the images made this week are sure to be show stoppers.
Day 5 (Thur): Eagle Butte-Home
There’s no better way to end an adventure than by returning to where it all began Ñü† the open prairies of South Dakota, where you will have one last opportunity to capture those images missed earlier in the week, thank your subjects for the many photo opportunities they provided, and bid them farewell. Once the shooting comes to an end, everyone will return to town in preparation for departing for their homes across the country, but not before enjoying their last breakfast together.
