Birds! Bats! Snakes!
This adventure takes place just south of Tucson in the heart of Arizona’s high desert where participants will have the opportunity to photograph birds of the desert southwest adult Gambel’s Quail and their chicks, Acorn Woodpeckers, Vermilion Flycatchers, and Phainopelpas, to name a few from ground-level blinds. Who knows, a friendly Coati Mundi may even drop by for a photo session.
Nighttime will provide participants rare opportunities to photograph Mexican long-nosed, Pallid, and Big Brown bats as they swoop low to drink from the surface of a pond. Flash setups, along with electronic sensors, are included and provide participants with everything necessary to make this possible.
Spend the good part of a day with a professional snake handler photographing a variety of desert snakes, including a Western Diamondback Rattlesnake trained to strike on command.
No photo adventure in southeast Arizona would be complete without an opportunity to photograph Nature’s Crown Jewels and this workshop is no exception. Participants will have the opportunity to photograph several hummingbird species using their own flash set-up, also provided, complete with flowers.
These are just a few of the surprises that await participants on this remarkable photo adventure.
