Day 1 (Sun): Green Valley
Arrive in Green Valley, Arizona, no later than 5 PM, at which time we will gather for dinner. Afterwards, you’ll receive a briefing on what to expect during the days ahead and instruction on photo techniques.

Day 2-6 (Mon-Fri): Elephant Head, Madera Canyon
Some morn
ings will find us at Elephant Head, while others will find us in nearby Madera Canyon, each area offering species unique to that particular locale, thus providing everyone with an unbelievable variety of species. Gambel's Quail, their chicks tagging along in single file, Acorn Woodpeckers, White-winged Doves, Curved-billed Thrashers, Phainopeplas, Northern Mockingbirds, Pyrrhuloxia, Northern Cardinals, Western Tanagers, Mexican and Scrub Jays, Roadrunners . . . the list goes on and on. Occasional Coati Mundi visits in Madera Canyon are not uncommon.

Sometime around mid-morning, you will head into nearby Green Valley and dine on a hearty breakfast. Afterwards, it's back to the hotel for a classroom session, time to download images and perhaps, time permitting, a short nap. Afterwards, its back to work photographing our high desert wild brothers and sisters.

No photo adventure in southeast Arizona would be complete without an opportunity to photograph Nature’s Crown Jewels and this workshop is no exception. Each day two different participants will have the opportunity to photograph several hummingbird species, including Broad-billed, Black-chinned, Anna's, and Costas, using flash set-ups, complete with flowers, provided by our host.

Sometime before the sun goes down, you will head to a nearby restaurant for dinner. Afterwards, it's Bat Time! Each evening, two different people will go to The Pond, where our host will already have electronic sensors and flash units set up and awaiting the arrival of Batman and Robin. All you'll have to do is plug a cord into your camera and await the arrival of thirsty bats as they swoop low over the water to drink.

One day will be spent with a professional snake handler, photographing a variety of snakes unique to the high desert, including a Western Diamondback Rattlesnake that has been trained to strike on command.

Day 7 (Sat): Green Valley - Tucson
All good things must come to an end. It's time to go home and organize and process all those pixels produced during the week. Following breakfast, everyone will say their goodbyes and return to their homes across the country. Shuttles to the Tucson airport will depart at 9AM.
