Day 1 (Sun): Idaho Springs
Arrive in Idaho Springs, Colorado, no later than 5 PM, at which time we will gather for dinner. Afterwards, you’ll receive a briefing on what to expect during the days ahead and instruction on photo techniques.
Days 2-4, (Mon-Wed): Mount Evans
Sunrise, each morning, will find you on the mountain. Sometimes, you will be face-to-face with mountain goats bathed in the alpen glow of a mountain sunrise. Other times, White-tailed Ptarmigan or pika will fill your viewfinder.
Breakfast - or early lunch - depending on the dictates of our stomachs and existing photo opportunities, takes place at nearby Echo Lake Lodge. Afterwards, it’s back to the mountain where you will have opportunities to photograph pika, chipmunks, marmots. Sooner, or later, all of the mountain’s colorful inhabitants will likely find their way into your viewfinder. As each day draws to an end, mountain goats once again become the likely focus of our attention.
Day 5 (Thur): Idaho Springs-Home
There’s no better way to end a High Country adventure than by returning to where it all began -- the Summit of Mount Evans. On the mountain, you will have one last opportunity to capture those images missed earlier in the week, thank your subjects for the many photo opportunities they provided, and bid them farewell when you head back down the mountain and into town. Following a late breakfast, it’s back to that place called reality, as you and the other participants begin the journey to your homes across the country.
